Apple Picking In The Rain

Today we took the girls to a farm that is about 45 minutes away.  I had bought a groupon last month for $13, this is what was included:
  • 8 lbs of apples
  • Corn Maze
  • 2 little pumpkins
  • A Hayride
  • Treasure Hunt
  • Bounce House
It was cloudy all day but we went anyways.  Of course it started to rain when we were only 5 minutes from the farm and the kids were already excited.  So we went on a wet hayride and picked apples in the rain.  The girls tried to go on the bounce house but it was wet so they only stayed on for about 2 minutes.  We finished the corn maze with only 1 person slipping and falling in the muddiness.

The girls got to try apple cider, which Big Ripples said tastes just like apple juice.  She wanted to know what the difference was... I have know idea.  The treasure hunt was really stupid, we didn't finish it.

I don't think the farm lived up to the girls expectations or mine really.  Maybe it was just that everything was wet but we drove 45 minutes there and were done with every thing there was to do within an hour.  Then drove 45 minutes home.

I'm excited for all they apples.  The girls thought it was neat to get to pick their own.  I'm baking a pan of maple brown sugar oatmeal with some of our apples diced up in it.  I plan on making some applesauce too at some point this week.
