Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings

I love recipes that I can just throw together with what I have on hand and this is one of those recipes.

1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can mixed vegetables
1 onion chopped
1 green pepper chopped
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon garlic
Seasoning - garlic salt, onion powder, pepper, etc. to taste
4 frozen chicken breasts
container of biscuits (Or, as I used on Sunday, leftover flour tortilla dough)

Mix first 7 ingredients in crock pot, season with whatever seasonings you choose. place frozen chicken breasts down into the mixture.  Then I would usually open a container of biscuit dough and rip it into chunks and throw into the crock pot. However since I had left over tortilla dough in the freezer, I decided to try to use that up instead of buying biscuits.  I left the dough in the refrigerator over night to thaw and then broke of chunks of the dough, rolled into balls and put them in the crock pot.  Cook on low 7 - 8 hours.  About half way through take lid of and mix everything around some then put lid back on and let it continue
cooking.

Both the girls ate their whole bowls without complaints so I call that a success!

  1. Very interesting, thanks for sharing! I'll buy the ingredients to do this over the weekend and may probably use a bullion cup (because that's our go-to season). Do you eat this with rice or something, or just by itself?

  2. It's a very versatile recipe. Some cream of whatever soup, some type of veggies mixed in, milk, chicken, and dough to make the dumplings. Its a great recipe to use up leftovers in.
