Party Appetizer: Bacon Cheeseburger Bombs

I originally found this recipe on pinterest and thought it sounded like a fun appetizer for my game night party. I didn't mark down the recipe at the time, I just reminded it looked awesome.  So I bought shredded cheddar cheese, ground turkey, turkey bacon and biscuits when I was at the store.  After I made these, I did find the recipe on Pillsbury.com if you want to check it out.

I made mine a little different.  I cooked the ground turkey and bacon together.  Flattened the biscuits and added a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each biscuit.  Then I sprinkled some cheese on top and folded the biscuit together.  Baked at 350 degrees until the biscuits looked browned.

I'm dipping these in ketchup and mustard.  They would also be good with honey mustard or bbq sauce.

Next time, I'm going to added some diced onions to the meat mixture and I'll use more bacon or else regular bacon instead of turkey bacon and more cheddar.  I only bought 2 cans of biscuits but I had enough meat mixture for another 1 - 2 cans.

These will definitely be on the menu for game night.

1 lb. ground turkey - $3.29
4 cans small buttermilk biscuits - $2
1 1/2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese - $1.63
Turkey Bacon - $2.19
Onion - $.30

Total - $9.41 for 40 Bacon Cheeseburger Bombs, or $.23 each
