Merry Christmas!

We had a good time at my in-laws last night and a great time at my family's today.  My husband told his aunt that we would stop by tonight, but I said no way.  So I'm home alone... finally.  Mr. R has worked a lot or at least every other day the last few days.  Since he works midnights, 12 hour shifts, that means that I've been the main parent day and night.  He sleeps all day and works at night.  Which is fine.  I'm happy with the way our schedules work out.  But I need a break.  So he and the kids are visiting some of his extended family that I've really only met a handful of times in the 13 years we've been together.  While I'm at home drinking a vodka and diet coke.  Merry Christmas to me!

I should be putting away the mass amount of gifts in our house, but I'm really thinking of starting a new book I got for Christmas and lounging on the  couch.  I'm sad now that I didn't take tomorrow off, I'm exhausted.

Since Mr. R worked last night, I had to put together Big R's vanity. It was very stressful.  The girls were so excited they wouldn't go to sleep.  Then I was so worried that one of them would come down and see me that I jumped at every noise.  But I got it put together and the look on Big R's face when she came down stairs this morning was priceless.  She was so excited Santa brought her a vanity.  It was her favorite gift.

Oh, and last night, there was a car running outside our living room window for close to an hour.  Or at least it seemed that way.  I closed the curtains around 11:30 and tried to stay up for another 1/2 hour waiting for the car to leave.  I know we live in condo's so the car could have been for any number of people that live here.  But since the window was open when I was carrying gifts upstairs, it worried me.  It's really scary to be home alone with 2 little girls all night.  I didn't sleep well, waiting for someone to break in and steal our gifts.   I plan on going to bed early tonight.

  1. Merry Christmas... I think the book sounds like a great idea! Cleaning can always wait... right :)
