Baked Ham

I bought a ham at Aldi last week.  It was 99 cents per pound and the ham I picked was just over 7 pounds.  For only costing just over 7 dollars, that ham made:

2 Dinners of Ham and Baked Potatoes (4 servings each dinner)
Left overs for 2 lunches
A little over a cup of meat that I froze and pulled out to use in the crock pot today
A really meaty Ham bone for soup (in the freezer)

Not Bad.  Every time I bake a ham, I always wonder why I don't do it more often.  The meat is so yummy and can be used in so many different ways.

I threw a whole bunch of veggies, cheese and ham in the crockpot just now.  If it turns out good, I'll post the recipe.

  1. We love a baked ham. I bought one from Aldi today also, about 9 lbs. I can't wait to use it for Christmas dinner and have all kinds of left overs, not to mention the bone for soup. Ham is so easy to use, and stretch to feed a large family of "meat eaters".

  2. I like how versatile ham is. I really like making soup with ham in it.
