Definitely need to check my receipts closer

I just sat down and looked over my receipt from my grocery shopping trip today.  I had both kids with me and apparently wasn't paying as much attention as I should have.  I usually review my receipt before I even leave the store and if there is a mistake, which happens a lot, I stop at customer service on the way out.  Even if the error isn't in my favor, I'll tell the store.  But only if I catch it before I've left.

On my receipt from my shopping trip this morning, I just noticed I was only charged for 2 of my 12 pks of pop.  I saw the guy come around with the scanner and scan them so I just assumed he got them all.

I also noticed that the conditioner I bought didn't ring up at sale price.  So I was overcharged for 2 bottles of conditioner.  The over charge was only about 64 cents though.

This just goes to show that it is so important to review receipts before leaving the store, even if the kids are with me.

  1. Agreed very much... I see more errors on my receipts than I'd like, even in simple non-coupon purchases. It is a hassle, and they still happen even when I turn a watchful eye.

  2. Argh, I hate when that happens. I try to keep my eye on the screen as the prices come up so I can catch mistakes right away because once I leave the store, I'm too lazy to do anything about it.

  3. We just went through that at Ikea. Hubby went through the self checkout and scanned an extra light fixture and didn't notice the bill was $40 more than it should have been. Luckily, the believed us and gave us our money back even though we came back another day. Good thing we are honest people!
