Decorating Snowmen

I bought 2 of these boxes of Rice Krispie Treat Snowman kits for only $1.25 each at Aldi on clearance. They were originally $4.99.  Each box made 3 snowmen that the girls got to decorate.

The boxes came with:
  • cereal
  • snowmen molds
  • marshmallows
  • icing mix
  • black icing
  • edible water color paints
  • paint brush
All I needed to add was:
  • 5 tbsp water and powdered sugar for the icing
  • 2 tablespoon butter

Big R's Snowmen

2 of Little R's Snowmen

Little R's Third Snowman
I used the same mold for all six.  I am saving the extra one to use some other time.  I'll store it with the cookie cutters.

  1. Easy family fun and little cost! Did the girls like doing this?

    1. They had fun. But unfortunately they don't taste too good. The icing didn't thicken up even after I added extra powder sugar and now they are a little soggy. Plus the taste of the icing is weird. Instead of using the icing mix it came with, I should have just made my own with powdered sugar, milk and butter. Oh well.

It was still inexpensive and something fun for them to do while we were all home today.

    2. It sounded like something fun for them to do.
