How do you do your taxes? Earn Cash Back through Ebates

I usually use HR Block to do my federal taxes online.  I am going to attempt them again this year with the help of HR Block Premium.  The cost is $49.99.  Normally, I would just use the deluxe online program with a cost of $29.99 but with the rental property, I will be going to the Premium program this year for some extra help.

If you use Turbo Tax or HR Block online to do your taxes make sure you go through ebates first.  You can get 10% cash back through ebates for HR Block and 7.5% cash back by using the ebates link for Turbo Tax.

This is another example of something I do every year anyways, might as well as stop at ebates first and earn some money for doing it!

*The link above is a referral link.  You can also just go to ebates.com to sign up for an account.

  1. You can get a discount on Turbo Tax through many financial institutions. For example, if you log on through the link on the Fidelity website, you get $20 off. You don't have to have an account there, you just have to go through their website. I think other banks offer this as well. It's worth checking out.

    1. Awesome! I have to check into that. I usually stick with HR Block because it remembers all my info from the year before. It saves me some time that way.

  2. We used to go to Jackson Hewitt and paid to get our taxes done. Last year, I did them online and saved a few hundred dollars by not having to pay someone else to do them. Not sure what I am doing this year yet. I like to file in February, and am waiting on one statement from our mortgage company for interest paid. I do my college kid's online and they send the refund right to her. They usually direct deposit our refund into my bank account.

    1. I've never had anyone done do my taxes since I've taken over doing them from my parents. I did do mine both through turbo tax and hr block online one year since you don't pay till you file to see if it made a difference and I got more back through hr block so I never filed the turbo tax one. It had to do with a way HR block worded a question associated with my college tuition that made me realize I could count something that ended up giving me more money back.

So now I always stay with HR Block since it knows all our info from the previous years so I don't have to fill out as much info each year.
