Have I told You Lately that I Love... Walgreens?

We stopped at Walgreens yesterday to get a birthday card.  We were running late, but I couldn't resist checking out the clearance items since I always find something great.

Yesterday I found Hello Kitty Messenger Bags.  The picture on the front of the bag is just an outline and it comes with markers to color the picture in.  These were originally $9.99, on clearance for $2.59 each.  Big Ripples has a birthday party coming up for her best friend.  So I bought one for her to take to the party and then I snuck a second one in the cart to put away for Christmas for Big Ripples.  She loves these.  She already has a Barbie purse and a Barbie bag she colored.

All these kids birthday parties add up so I love when I find a nice gift for cheap.  We have 2 kids parties this month. One gift down, one to go.

  1. Oh, I hear you on the kids' parties!! On the one hand, I want my kids to be popular (who doesn't?), but on the other, I'm like, "Really? ANOTHER party? how about we just skip one."

Great post! I will be back to read more soon. :)

  2. I have a love-hate relationship with Walgreens, and I'm not sure who's on what side. I've had more bad experiences than good (because the store closest to me sucks, but the other ones far away are excellent), and when I track deals, I can get stuff for really, really cheap, especially in toiletries. But a lot of the time my receipt comes out wrong, discounts are forgotten or coupons are mismatched by the sales associates, so... I've just stopped looking.

Good job on stocking up for kids' stuff! I've already started looking at toys for my two nephews. I guess now it's the time to get them stuff, especially summer-style things that are good year round (like bubble guns, bouncy balls or beach balls and all-purpose towels and paints).
