When I first saw this spot on our kitchen ceiling about a week ago, I thought for sure it would require major repairs. We've had to have plumbers cut into the wall to repair pipes directly above this before so I figured that was going to have to happen again.
Luckily, it turned out not to be so bad. We got our handy man out to take a look and all the pipes were fine. Yay! The faucet was getting to be really hard to turn on and off in the bath tub and he thought that it didn't get shut off all the way the morning this happened and water dripped down the wall onto the floor for the whole day. Mr. R confirmed that he did find the shower dripping water before he called the handyman. We've been very careful the last week to make sure it is shut off good.
Mr. handy man came back over yesterday and replaced whatever it was that needed replacing. Shower turns on and turns off easy peasy now. He also helped Mr. R hang some shelves in our half bathroom. Mr. R is doing some of the work himself, repainting the ceiling and repainting part of the wall in the bathroom where the old towel holder screwed in.
For the two visits, parts and labor, handy man only charged us $60. Sounds like a deal to me!
Wow, that is a deal from a handy man. Normally they charge a lot just to look at things. Glad it wasn't anything serious!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great deal, thank goodness it didn't require major and costly repairs.
